Gopro hero 7 and Sena 20s evo

Hi, newly here. I have a Gopro 7 black and a Sena smh10 which I am updating to a 20s evo.

I see that the 20s has a earbuds port on the base, but I assume that the speakers are disabled when earbuds are plugged in.

My question is, has anyone tried to modify the earbud port so it doesn't disable the speakers and use the audio out of this port as input for a gopro via external microphone adapter?

Yes, but the sena Bluetooth gopro adapter doesn't work with gopro 7, only older gopro which is a shame.
 
Also interested in how you get on with that. It's an concept that other companies don't have in their devices, is there a reason behind that I wonder.
A friend has just bought the kit discussed by others but that's no use to you.
Only concern I would have is that if you damage something on the connection area of earplug connection, you could end up with a unit that thinks its permanently in headphone mode, so nothing coming through your speakers.
 
I am getting an extra universal mount for the Sena 20s so I don't stuff up the unit I will be using. I hope to have them by next week and wit try to pull apart the other base and have a look.
Will let you know how I go.
