GoPro 11 Mini

Anyone here using the gopro 11 mini for motovlogging? Impressions?
I'm not, but it sort of brings the Session into the latest model lineup, so it would be good for an inconspicuous camera, either on a helmet, or handlebars, something like that.

The lack of screens and needing to set it up with the app is a huge turn-off for me.

I had been considering one because I hoped it would be lighter and less weight on the Helmet. But the reviews for it are overwhelmingly terrible. First, it's not much smaller, nothing like the session of old. Second, because it has a fixed battery, it is impossible to reset it when it locks up. With a normal Hero, when it freezes, you can pull the battery; no go with the Mini.

I have pretty good luck with the Hero 11, but then I've not been tying to use it in hot climates. I am a little worried when I'm in Spain this summer. Hoping they don't freeze up.

Recently I took a trip from my city, São Paulo (Brazil) passing through Uruguay and Argentina, during all this journey I got very hot climate and had several problems with the battery of the GoPro 7 black that I was using. It overheated many times. Now I'm doing some tests using it without the battery connected in a powerbank or even directly in the 12v socket of the bike and it's working fine. As I still haven't found many videos of people using the 11 mini for motovlog so I decided to ask here cause I'm very curious about it.

I hate the fact that GoPro is making bigger and heavier cameras, when they released the 11 mini I was excited but it seems like there are more cons than pros so far. Especially for motovlog where it's still impossible to get rid of that microphone adapter...

I was excited when they announced the 11 Mini, but the reviews have not been good and I've decided to skip it. My Hero 7 & 8 along with my Insta360 OneX2 are good enough to keep me trucking along. I keep thinking I'll upgrade but every new GoPro model seems to have huge issues.

Ain't that the truth! After mucking about with the Hero 9, and working around the issues with the Hero 10 ... I skipped the 11. Might look at the 12 though, if it does something great and wonderful.

Another bizarre thing is the name mini, I thought the camera would be much smaller and lighter.

When I bought my Hero Session 5 used the previous owner had named it "The Eye".

So, I am waiting for GoPro make a camera we wear as a contact. It will likely be the Hero 35 Mini. The regular Hero 35 will have 16k resolution, 8 mics for 7.1 surround, front and rear touch screens, a battery that can withstand temps down to 0, wireless charging,

But will still need a f-ing mic adapter for some cocked up reason.

And the mic adapter will be the same size of a hero 11 with media mod :P

I just ordered the 11 mini today as GoPro is having a flash sale at $199.00. At that price point, I figured it was time to add another camera to my setup which currently centers around a HERO 8 Black.

I already have my motovloging audio setup using my 8 with a media mod and requisite mic, so this mini will be a good 2nd cam for face/suspension/wheel shots etc...

I gotta admit, that price is tempting.
