I simply can't ride without gear, the thought of scraping my skin off down to the bone just makes me shiver. Crashing often has little to do with how you ride or what you ride, it's often completely out of control, for example hitting a piece of car debris on a roundabout as I have, had I not have been wearing my gear then I certaintly would not have rode away. You may be a veteran rider but in my opinion you have a real disregard for your safety.
