Ghost-s 1.0.2.1

Officially Drift don't recommend SDXC, only HC, but you're limited to 32GB then. But we'd all rather not have to swap cards out on the fly.

Lurch for the Drift Ghost S, they do recommend it its in the manual, it also allows for a 64GB. Which is contrary to their FAQs

I didn't read the manual :o

I was actually told that by the support man at Drift when I had issues with an HD and I was upgrading to the S for a small fee as part of the warranty exchange.

misleading isnt it. I had a similar exchange and said if its in the tech spec document the camera should be able to take it !

I've been in touch with Drift directly and got some additional information.

Improvements:
1. Initialising buyer added to help prevent issues when recording after powering on
2. Improvements to prevent 'flickering' effect
3. Improvements to time-lapse mode stability
4. Fix for storage IO error

So 1. I have experienced as if I record within 5s of turning the cam on it would sound the stop recording beep a few seconds later. 2. No idea what that means! 3. @BlackMamba will probably be pleased. 4. Hopefully this is what causes the crash.

While I remember, I was looking at some footage from Saturday, and where it has gone from one file to the other, I've lost about 10-20m of road between the clips, I will have been traveling at about 15/20mph at the time. Anyone else notice this?

Printed word works better than the spoken one in court!

Lurch do we know what they mean by the flickering effect? I wanted them to sort the aliasing out on 1080 60?

Adam says:

Adam (Drift Innovation)

'Flickering' is an effect caused by the automatic exposure compensation, where the camera will rapidly step the exposure up and down. Most users will never experience this, even with firmware version 1.0.0.0. but we've heard reports of this occurring in snow conditions, on overcast days.

Would be nice if they have sorted out the crashing :p Altho since I'm using the new red / gold 64gb sandisk I haven't had any issues.

Just updated mine, I hope the IO error sorts some of the random crashes out and the flickering helps with night time shooting.
You never know ;)

I also have a feeling Drift are working on a new cam to be announced soon... call it a hunch if you will.

They need to, Hero 4 leaves the S miles behind and probably won't be that long before we see a 4+/5
