Gear Shift Issue

My KTM RC390 has this issue with the gear shift. While standing still and I try to shift from 2nd to neutral, the gear shift indicator shows no number. Same from 1st to neutral. I can't seem to get it into neutral and show 0. I got the bike back from service today and they said that that's how all bikes are. He showed me the same thing on another RC390. He said that it's because the bike is in a standstill.

Now I believe that that isn't normal. For it to show no number rather than a specific gear seems odd.

Has anyone else faced this issue in their bike?

Can't say I have but mine have normally been aftermarket jobs. Is yours done by a sensor by the gear level?

I don't think anything is wrong in the tranny if that's what your worried about. It sounds like a electrical problem.
