Well, I was hangry and I vlogged...
what is considered hate speech, just out of curiosity?Very true. In Canada you can say pretty much whatever you want, as long as it's not hate speech.
Oh. Very interesting. I could be mistaken, but here you could say the first thing, however, if you said that in your capacity as a teacher (as in your example) there is nothing to protect you from being fired. But you would not face criminal charges unless you were inciting violence against Jews. So in that respect the U.S. and Canada are different. When 9/11 happened one of my teachers said in front of 200+ students "we need to bomb those ragheads". Nothing happened to him. No one even complained. He serves on the board of eduction now. Pretty shocking if you ask me.http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/c-46/page-157.html
Basically anything that is posted without fact or designed specifically to defame a group of people.
EX of hate speech: The holocaust never happened and is a Jew lie. (A teacher actually said this and was fired and charged)
Ex of not hate speech: The holocaust is not believed by some to have happened, as much of the evidence has been destroyed.
Not the nicest topic, but it's an example of case law used in Canada to prosecute for hate speech.
