Hello, this may get me in trouble as I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this here, if not then please let me know and remove the topic! :)

I'm partnered with a network that has lots and lots of great music including music from artists such as 'Charice' who sang 'Pyramid' with 'Iyaz' a few years ago. The music is free to use in monetized videos and there's a whole arsenal of tracks for you to choose from. The network is called Freedom! (I have a referral link)

As I cannot post the link here to apply, please message me if you'd like it and I'll be sure to message you back as soon as I read it.

I'm sure I can answer a couple of questions regarding the network but I don't work for them so some questions will have to be asked to them directly!

No issues with you posting about it!

However, I'm presuming that you can only use the music if you're partnered with the said company? If you ever leave that said company you're then in breach of the copywrite and you'll have lost the video! They would stick adverts on the videos containing the music so you'll lose out anyway.

Not a fan of that sort of thing, it's not ethical and tricks people into thinking they'll get free music but they won't if you look into it properly.

however, I can see why people would do it but they really should think of the long term approach. It's a great way of getting people by the balls
 
You are correct, it's music provided by the network for the channels partnered and it can be a problem if you decide further down the line to leave the network.

I do believe that rights to use the music can be purchased if you do decide to leave.

Anyway, it's just an idea for those struggling for music :-)

I havent had any tbh, but people keep saying its comon, I always thought because my account is not monetised that they wouldnt do anythin gother than put adverts on my videos

If you don't monetize your videos they shouldn't even put ads on them, unless they monetize videos with copyright music regardless, not sure.
 
YEh they put ads on the videos with copyright protected content, so i dont make money off someone elses work but they still advertise
 
One strike screws you up, you can't upload vids of more than 15 minutes as the infamous biker found out.
 
6 months I think it lasts for.

A disclaimer or other acknowledgement doesn't get you around any copyright at all. You've either used stuff that's not on the automatic system or maybe the publisher is ignoring non monetised channels or small channels.

I Didnt mean something written in the description box i meant this i have youtube telling me that theres someone elses music and i have to aknowledge or dispute that

Now I always thought it didn't matter if you don't make money from your channel, guess I was wrong.
 
I just ran into this aswell, and am confused. I downloaded some songs to use from http://freemusicarchive.org/. The artists song are listed there and licensed under a creative commons license. Here is an example Put Me Somethin Warm in My Cup by Mr. & Mrs. Smith is licensed under a Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 United States License.

So in my video I have a link to the song and the license info. Now a company has put a copyright claim against it. I sent his info to dispute it but it got denied and the claim still exists.

I've read somewhere that some companies are behind the scenes and when a person uses certain agents to upload and post their songs to itunes then it gives these companies behind the scenes right to the songs and the creators may not no it.

Not sure where to go from here. Perhaps I should email the musicians themselves.
 
I have contacted the musician and in my case he was unaware that this company could do this and it goes against what he is trying to do with his music. He said this company offered him this service where he would make money off anyone who used his music on any youtube video. He was unaware of the impact it could have and is going to pursue this with them.

Now I'm sure it will be a dead end and my video will still have this flag on it and I will have to do as stated and Accept and acknoledge it. However i'm glad that I was able to aleast let one artist know about this.
