Does anyone know of a free editing software for windows 7? (not a free trial version)

Windows Live Movie Maker is free. It has limited editing capabilities but if you are creative you can make it work. I was using it prior to moving onto FCPX.

FCPX is Mac only, and is £200, so maybe $300 US? Quick look in the Mac App Store will confirm it.

Since my current computer(s) were getting outdated, even running the cracked Vegas (not latest version) was laggy, so instead of getting another Windows based laptop, I went for a Macbook Pro, and the FCPX cost me MYR 900 as offer together with the machine purchase.

Still learning how to use it though, slow and steady.

YouTube tutorials - loads of them for fcpx. Search Final Cut King, he has a load of starter howtos.
