if I had the time and energy to charge my camera batteries and wipe the memory I would use it everyday. I do have a remote on my bike, but I feel like of something bad happened my had would be quicker on the break and horn before the rec button.
 
Crashing sucks! my first crash was in a driveway haha broke my foot and my mirror xD embarrassing

heh ikr, i feel like my camera has empty batteries all the time lol, i'm getting better about that tho, i record most of my rides now, i've missed way too many good stuff lol

Hey glad you're okay and the bike aint got to much damage....but i gotta say....I worry bout your dog. I think its great that he trusts you so much to want to be on the bike with you, but fuck me man....you must know that one day he is gonna get hurt seriously bad.... are you going to be able to live with that.

I don't want to dump on you, but i have a dog that i love to bits and if i let him he would follow me any where... but no way could i do what you're doing.

Bought myself a couple spares for the long trips, running out on my first vlog was embarrassing.
 
You can always get one of these external battery packs and enjoy continuous recording until the card runs out of space (If you camera supports it).

With the driftHD @1920x1080 it runs for 4 hours until everything runs out. Battery pack, internal battery and memory card space.

These battery packs are awesome. I use one to charge my cameras at tea breaks on bike trips, keep my phone charged and charge things like my PSP and 3DS. You can get ones that will charge your phone around 10 times for about £15.
 
Yup, they're cheap for what they are.
Last time I went to walmart I saw this one. Translate the clown money to about $15~18. The Sony is about the same price (and a little bit more capacity, 1700mAh against 2000mAh).

I don't use it to charge anything though. It is useless for that, the amount of power lost in conversion (3.7V->5V) makes it unsuitable for charging. It charges my phone from flat to about 40% and dies.
Oh, and charging the battery pack takes forever, about 4~5 hours. Even when using a fast charger.
Besides that, it is great for the Drift HD. The drift records with external power until the pack dies then switches to the internal battery, it fills up the card and then everything dies.
 
That's pretty small. I buy 13000mah ones with 2 usb ports.

It also charges at 5v 2a so it charges anything at full speed many times over before running flat.

It will easily give a GoPro 3+ black 9-10 charges.

I cannot find those at my local shops. There's a couple chinese ones but I am not confident buying no-brand lithium batteries. I would rather pay for a well known brand. I know what chinese chargers have inside and I don't trust them. At all.

What do you mean? I did 160km on my dualsport following the Dakar when they were riding here. Not that LONG ride but it was the longest I rode on that bike.

most i rode in one piece on my supermoto was probably around 50km and my ass was kinda sore lol, i could probably do 100+ km's but i dont really have the need to, its more fun to be a hooligan round town lol

I understand, but I think along the lines of what C&C said. She doesnt think 'What if' all she cares about is whats happening now, and if right now she's with me enjoying the ride then what more could ya ask for? Besides its not really an option for me to leave her behind, If I'm to go she must be with me.
I do appreciate your concern though, but me and her are in this adventure together ;)
