Howdy folks!
Just been going through my 1TB drive wondering where all the space had gone, and it's all on FCPX libraries.
So, when you guys create a new project and import media, what's actually worthwhile? Obviously unless you're collaborating there's no point in importing original media, that's probably a given.
What do you think to options like creating optimised or proxy media? Where and when do these become worthwhile? All the project settings are far and above the standard at which cameras record, so any point in doing anything to this media has anyone found?
My New Project settings are basically to set the resolution manually, usually the same as source, or match the lowest res/frame rate of material I will be using. Audio is Stereo 48k, and the Render format, Apple ProRes 422, I've no idea what the others do TBH.
Import settings are currently to leave files in place and to create optimised and proxy media.
What settings do you use and why?
Cheers!
