External Audio Recorders

hey guys, was just wondering if anyone knew of any decent (BUT CHEAP) external audio recorders.

I'm planning on getting a cheap camera for my vlogs and I figure it'd be better to use a separate device for the audio so as to keep the waterproof housing intact. That, plus I could come up with a stupid little jingle to sync the audio/video with to add a lil' spice to my vlogs

How about trying with your phone? Use some voice recorder app. If your phone is the waterproof type then you should be all set. Good to test it out for sound quality.

For sync, using the horn as a marker would be fine in case you decided not to get all fancy with a jingle.

I did think about using my phone at first but its battery life is low enough as is (iPhone 5c), and when I'm out on a 4-5 hour ride it'd just kill it. Plus I use my phone for GPS at the moment so it'd be awkward to do both at once.

Still though, could work for a short-term fix.
