Hi all,

Just got 'Sony Vegas Movie Studio Studio HD Platinum 11' & my problem is.

When I open it within SVMSSP (^), it seems to 'jerk' whilst I play it back (while trying to edit it)

I.e. I was testing out the 'blur' effect, so when I see a plate I can blur the plate. But it just seems to jerk and I can't get it right.

I'm recording in 1280 x720p x30fps & I'm importing it into SVMSSP at 1280 x720p x30fps. But it still seems to jerk while watching it back (on that small editing screen)

I have tried my drift at 720p x25fps and imported it at the same properties but it just seems to keep jerking and not playing smoothly.

And Ideas?

Lower the preview quality or get more RAM.

Theres a guy on YT that has the same editing software, he speaks about how the Drift & alot of the newer cameras save in a AVCHD file. Most 2-3y/o computers can't seem to cope with the file.

I have 8gb Ram in my Laptop but as soon as I try to edit the video and look at my task manager the CPU is 100% but as soon as I pause the video it's back to 6%.

I'm thinking it's time for a new computer, I've had this laptop for around 3 years now so getting a new Desktop PC should help with the editing.

-£400 out of the savings :/

3 years and its got 8gb RAM? Thats amazing.

You can just lower the preview quality. It won't look as good in preview but its only a preview.

Yea I removed the old 500mb of RAM which it came with and put 2x 4Gb sticks in.

I've posted a new topic on which I don't know would be better to sacrifice RAM or Processor Speed.
