Dual Vlogging, How Are You Doing Them?

MotoMisc

Move along, nothing to see here!
Just as the topic suggests, what are your choice in dual vlogging?

I just filmed a short video with gf and since i dont have a good camera for her helmet, I moved one speaker of my scala rider to be close to the camera mic, so I can hear her on one ear only but the camera picks it up xD any suggestions how i can make this better or should I wait until I get her a camera?

You know I'm not sure how people set up theirs exactly, but I know alot of people are using Sena setups. They can get the audio into their cameras somehow or they are both recording their own audio and slapping it in the video...tis a good question.

Simple idea would be to get her a camera.

Ye, we are using sena(or scala our model is) but don't know how to get her audio into the camera without one more camera.. might be best and then just clap or shout in beginning to sync like you said :)

That must honestly be how they do it. I can't think of another way to do it unless Sena or a third party company makes some kind of tap in audio thing you can use.

I recently did some dual vlogging with another moto vlogger. Now since I ride a touring bike that has blue tooth connection to my phone, he called me using his Sena and I routed the sound through the fairing speakers.

I realize some moto vloggers don't have this setup, but some might so here is an option.

Here is an example from the start of the video:

That works too!

I just watched another vlog last night on Chase on 2 Wheel's channel that was a dual vlog and Yummi's camera died. Until he put another battery in ans started recording you could only hear what was coming from Chase's helmet so that solves the mystery for me. They take both audios from the cameras. Makes sense.

Sena makes a backpac for gopro that pipes chat audio into the mic port on the camera like your mic does, but it takes all sena chatter. That is how most get 2 ppls chat into 1 video.

Yeah, but plugs into the micro USB port and that is where my mic goes. I thought the Sena back pack still needs it's own mic to pick me up.

I'm assuming that you wouldn't need a mic straight to the Go Pro for yourself. It's just going to grab everything coming in and out of your Sena.

That's right so I would have a GoPro, headset for the intercom/CB/cellphone, then a Sena.

Too much stuff plus, I would lose the additional battery capabilty. I do long rides so power is an issue

I know some people who have tapped into the battery into their bike for because of power issues. I don't think it's worth it, but for some people I guess it is haha

I saw the setup Swiss Motard on the forum has so I ordered a cable to see how that works out. 8 hours is 128 gb at 1080p60, so juice it a must.

I haven't published any dual vlogs as of yet so don't have examples but the way i do it is:

-Communication between the two riders by sena (i don't use the sena for the audio or anything like that, the sena is purely standalone in this)
-Both riders record their own video/audio through their own set ups.
-Sync everything together at the beginning with a clap
-Then i use FCP X multicam feature to sync everything up. The multi cam feature lets you just watch the video through and click when you want to change the audio/video over to the other angle or input.

Yeah im gonna try some of those ways to dual vlog next year :) My current is "i have moved my left speaker in helmet to the place where my camera mic is ;p so if I have music on or talking to someone that gets picked up aswell xD since the one I am doing dual vlog is not having a camera at the moment that works fine :)

My girlfriend and I have BT headsets and each of us has their own vlogging setup, Drift Ghost-S. I just slap both videos together in editing (search for "Dualvlog with Red Renna").

I have tried placing a 2nd mic next to my headset speaker, but it's just not loud enough and the quality is rubbish.

Another way is to use Sena 10s cameras, as one unit can record the whole conversation. But quality is very bad compared to a video made with a Ghost-S and external mic. (search for "Meeting Premises187").

Will do =)

The wife will be picking up her own bike this April and I think we are just gonna pull the audio in separately . Will probably beep the horn to use as the start point. Eventually we will get some form of a comm unit but until then its gonna be mostly rambling on our own lol

I'm going to try this once my mic adapter arrives...

I'll let you know how it goes.

Basically getting my gopro to capture both my voice and my comms....fingers crossed.

Hi, My wife and i started motovloging resently. We both use the scala rider G9x. I connect my phone to the scala with Bluetooth and intercom my wifes scala. I have downloaded an app from play store called Bluetooth recorder. This records both the voices. Its great on the road. Later on we stich the audio with the video...
