Hi Peeps. I purchased a Drift HD from action cameras when they was offering the charger and spare battery for free. The spare battery didn't seem to want to charge and it didn't register that there was a battery in when i plugged the cam into my laptop (the blue light didn't appear). I got into contact with action cameras yesterday (about 1pm), and they said its not worth me sending the broken one back and that they would just send me a new one. Sure enough before i had even woken up this morning the new one was posted through my door! i cant say enough about action cameras!

my point is can the broken battery be revived? It doesn't want to charge its self, has anyone experienced this? or have any knowledge about batteries?

thanks CtP999

ive just bought the hd720 from them, got delivered this morning and broke almost straight away haha. i didn't even have chance to record any test footage or anything. it would turn on but the lcd would just black screen with no response. about 4 hours later, after an angry email written to actioncameras, i found out how to do a hard reset on the camera from another forum (hard reset is not detailed in the piss poor manual that comes with the cam)

incase you need it in the future, you hold the up, down and menu buttons simultaneously while powering the unit on with the select button, holding for about 5 seconds should hard reset it

unfortunately you cant recall hotmail emails so now i feel a bit embarassed at being so nasty to them haha

have you tried charging the battery through a USB wall charger rather than a PC?

Well it came with the dock charger that you put the battery straight into and nothing so I guess it's screwed. NVM I have a working spare now anyhow!

Bit late on this. but when you plug your camera into the PC and a blue light comes on it means it's charging and your PC won't see if.

you have to turn the camera on for the PC to see it.
