Drift ghost microphone help!

I have not done a road test yet but my mic sensitivity is at one with the mic buried in the right cheek pad.
The sound quality is fine. My helmet is an HJC IS-MAX BT. I'm not sure how it will turn out once I'm on the road or with different face shield positions. Seattle weather is so crappy lately it just sucks to go outside.

I'm sure I will end up changing mic positions before I find a sweet spot.

Try to hit up ARidersLife. He has a drift...

I hacked my Drift Stealth mic apart and put a small piece of white Teflon plumbers tape over the top of it to block the wind noise. With that aftermarket mic you have, will probably just have to play around and do some experimenting to see what works the best. Every helmet is different in some way or another. Just takes time to figure out what is best for ya.

I ended up having to buy a Drift Mic (3.5mm) and put it in the right cheek pad facing backwards with sensitivity set to one. Works ok.

I've got the proper mic from drift and managed to get mine sounding like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLDxsD1jX_M ]

I pretty much just followed this guys set up and quite happy with the results; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3rCNhqnplQ

Turn the mic sensitivity down though

The wind noise can really ruin a good video. I tried 808 camera before and it was rubbish because of the wind noise mainly. My helmet is bloody loud at high speeds.. impossible to ride without ear plugs - Arai Viper GT, old Nolan is not much better. So I won't place the mic there. I will experiment with my external microphone but for what I need I will probably place is somewhere where the engine can be heard better but not annoyingly loud, and wind noise reduced to minimum.

Just add more foam... wrap the mic in thicker and thicker foam until the wind noise is gone.

the closer to the outside of the helmet, the louder if gets, unless you compensate with foam / sound padding.

use a mic sock / buff. that worked for me and my audio is fine on my hd ghost.

I use setting 1 on the audio. and mine sits on ontop of the chin curtain
