ouch! glad you are alright. my handle bars did a similar thing when I dropped mine a while ago. They were just tweaked to the side a bit. The guys at the shop just put the front wheel against a curb and gave em a good smack to straighten them back out.
That's crappy, man, what a bummer. Here in UK you will find a lot of garages have some kind of lip or gutter at their entrance and exit. These designs are inherently dangerous for bikes.
But if that was part of their private property and was dangerous for the public to use, can you claim against them?
My advice would be don't keep in to much, Try and stay quite central, where cagers go there will be less ice, and you took the corner quite close to the sidewalk. It sucks because any other day of the year you would have been fine.
I would be so mad! Sucks it happened, but glad you are alright. My bf just wrecked his supermoto in the parking lot going about the same speed from the front tire washing. What a lame feeling.
