hey guys, so, i'm from south america, Colombia actually, and Slime, a tire sealant aparently very popular in the states it's beggining to be shipped here, and im doubtfull wheter its a good or bad product, since all i watch on youtube are its Brand ads, and almost no real world use of the product, can anyone give me a reference on it?

thank you guys, and sorry if a made mistakes in my writing.

:D

Can't help you first hand if it's any good. Something similar gets used in the UK by some people, and opinions seem to vary on it. I've heard tyre fitters don't like it as they need to do extra cleaning when changing the tyres, and some charge more because of it.

And your English is pretty much perfect! Better than many of the English in fact :)

i have got slime in my rear tire havent had any problems but i did have it in my front tire before i changed it and it did cause a wobble when going past 50mph. i put it in my tires when i had a slow puncture and it fixed the problem also garages get pissed off when removing the tires if you don't tell them first .

I have slime in my tubes. It's a necessity for off-road riding and while I can't speak from first-hand experience, many adventure and dual-sport riders swear by it

The question is - Do you actually need it?

A bung kit is tiny and will get you out of the shit, quickly! I've done a couple of sessions with a bung, on a track, not had an issue!

I had it in my bmx when i used to ride, and its good for the odd thing but if you have a blow out it makes a mess of everything, for the weight and added hastle its probably easier to just carry a plug kit to repair a puncture and if its anything bigger than that can handle then slime wouldnt fix it either.

Plug kit is the way to go. Quick and easy to use, small and compact, can fit in the smallest of seat compartment on a sports bike. Not sure if it can affect much at all, but always thought the slime might affect wheel balance.

Well.. I have had some slime in the cupboard for a little while...coming back from my last adventure in Salisbury Plains I ended up getting a puncture... ffs lol. I had my off road tyres on mind, but it was onroad that it happened.. So when I put the new tube in I will be putting the slime in.

I would say it doesn't matter too much for on road use... but that depends what you do with your bike and what bike you have. Like for mine I reckon I should put slime in my road tyres too as I will be taking it offroad from time to time with the road wheels on.

But general rule of thumb... more for offroad wheels :) but will also help for any puncture you get regardless of the tyre your using :)
