DJI MIC 2 and External Mic

Has anybody any experience with connecting an external mic into a Mic 2? I've set the gain to the lowest -12db and it sounds okay but still a lot hotter than I'd like

You might need to use less sensitive mic. It's not all up to the receiver.

Yh it helped but still wasnt quite enough. I'm sure I've got a Purple Panda knocking about somewhere but I'm pretty sure that thing is more sesnsitive than then Hama mic that Hippo-Drones recomends. I know if you use the DJI mic adapter and then DJI wired mic then it will go even lower but only with that one adapter. Maybe just one of them inline volume controls might do the trick

I have seen a lot of motovloggers use a Mic 2 with a lav mic.I prefer to just use the mic directly and use the 32 bit float track of the main track is too high
