Concealed Carry on a motorcycle?

So what are your thoughs? I've played around with the idea of ankle carry, but just haven't given it a go. Jacket pocket seems a bit too slow to access.. find the pocket, open zipper, draw firearm, well... that took a while...

Also, if you have a setup that works, what do you carry? Or why don'y you carry on a motorcycle (for those of you that do CCW)?

Have you ever considered shoulder holster? I mean it would be fairly slow also, but It cant be any slower than ankle carry. As long as you practice with it you should be fine. If you go down with it, I don't think it would hurt as bad as going down with it IWB.

Just my two sense, I'm not old enough to carry yet but I sure will carry when I can, which is actually coming up pretty soon. Let me know what you find works
 
Well I do not know if i would want to conceal carry just because of the thought of the possibility of it going off. There is always that .0000001% chance of it actually going off while riding or heck crashing! But I do see why you carry because there are some neighbors here in the US that there are "all out wars"! haha

If its in a proper holster, it's not going to go off
 
I've seen quite a few guys around louisville open carrying. Never seen anyone cut them off either, odd how that happens :)
 
Interesting thread. I conceal carry my SCCY CPX-1 in my vest. It has built in holsters that places the gun and my extra mag on my side in the soft part between my ribs and hip bone. I can quickly access it and I doubt it would hurt too bad if I went down. I bought it from a local leather shop for around $70.
 
I wouldn't want to go down with a concealed carry. I don't have that just yet (thinking about it) but the thought of falling and having a Glock 17 in my ribs? Nah...

Texas passed open carry, and it will be in effect next year. So if I where to go shoot somewhere that is how I would do it. Leg holster and let that be that!

That would be my biggest fear with carrying on a motorcycle. I have a Colt 1911 and I don't even want to think what that thing will do to me if I fall on it
 
I've concealed carried and open carried on a bike where it's legal to do so. On a bike is about the only place I would OC because it's more comfortable and more practical. I carry a full sized 1911 and it is a bit uncomfortable carrying IWB on a bike. My Ruger LC9 was better but not by much. Shoulder rig or OWB under a jacket is best if you have to go concealed. I really don't carry on the bike much unless I'm going to or through somewhere questionable. When I lived in rough neighborhoods, having a weapon on me was more necessary, but I live in one of the safest cities in Texas now so around there, my chances of getting robbed, car jacked or attacked by raving crack heads is slim to none. While you're on the bike and moving a gun is all but useless so the bike itself is more useful in terms of self-protection. Drop a gear and disappear!
 
I have a Glock 23 and i have used an inside the waste band holster for a while but my issue is the wind lifts my shirt. I have a second/backup M&P Shield in my saddle bags which is also where i store my wallet while riding so in the unfortunate case that some idiot is trying to steal my wallet, they think they will get it but they will get a .45 bullet instead. But for my on the body carry, I still haven't figured out how to comfortably carry and not be flashing or printing. That is unless i wear my riding vest in which i have had pockets created with magnet flaps to give me easy access to my firearm. It has snap buttons to close the vest. the pocket inside has the magnets.
 
We're allowed guns here in the UK. So don't think you cant. in fact, I've been to many gun shops over here where they sell ARs. Obviously its not like the US where you can walk in and get one. You have to have a specific reasoning over here. I.e. sport/farming etc.. And even then the process is incredibly rigorous, you have to go for interviews etc etc.. and they scrutinise everything! On the other hand you could just get one off the street easily if you know the right people... anyways, in terms of Conceal and Carry, i'd go with a leg bag and just hide it in there if it fits.
