Color Grading Gopro Protune Footage

Nah, standard is fine. But you will find reviews online complaining about the crappy colors in Protune because they don't know what it's for.

I thought there was a bundled app like Color or something. I haven't used FCP since 7 though.

I've seen a colour tweaker of sorts, but it's a bit clumsy, although great for doing a colour wash over video.

Yeah, it looks like they just have a built in color grading effect. Seems pretty powerful though.

Its that bad that most of the time I never use it, so bad that 50% of the time I leave the go pro at home.

The FCPX color grading plugin you probably want is called Color Finale (there are others). I've tried it out and it's pretty impressive. I will definitely be picking it up when I get more into grading, right now I am content to use the FCPX built in tools just to color correct, I don't have a need to grade yet as I just want to correct the flat look...

I use a 4 Silver. Tried switching off Protune the other day just to see what it looks like normally and nearly threw up when I saw the result. Do you have Protune on yours? If you do, switch it on and choose flat, I promise you won't regret it!

It does have protune but ive left it off as it just sucks too much battery.

Might need to look at a battery eliminator for the bloody thing.

The biggest benefit of ProTune is the near 2x bitrate you get. The images look so much better without the extra compression.
