The glitch noise is present in the raw file. Anyone know what it is? Cheers :)

Not had that before, but doesn't sound nice! :(

Have you tried the obvious first troubleshooting steps like reformatting memory card, trying a different card etc? Does the same sound occur on both the external mic and the internal mic?

Also (if it's even possible) re-apply the latest firmware update?

Sounds like some sort of electrical interference to me. Maybe you have a short in your microphone wire if you're using an external mic. It not do you have any other electronic devices like a cell phone or GPS that you're using. We get a similar sound with our video conferencing system at work when people have their phones too close to the microphones.

I haven't really had chance to try and get to the bottom of it yet as I only went through the footage tonight :) I will try different cards and the internal mic, although it doesn't happen in all of my videos. However, Krytens pointed me in the right direction I reckon :P Should have realised before, but at that point I was outside of the Airport. Plus with the regular intervals of about 4 seconds maybe it was comms from the airport (roatating dish maybe?) It has occured away from the airport but only once or twice. Cheers guys, I'll test this at some point and get back to you

EDIT- Just reviewed more footage, it is the airport :) Coincidentally, I also did some filming without the external mic attached and there is no interference. Looks like the external mic and some airport comms don't agree haha :P

if you getting it near the airport then likely the 'field/ground traffic' radar .. or possibly a electonic beacon/marker for aircraft navigation/triangulation..... if its not that directly interfering with the ext microphone (which could act as an antenna??) .. then...

bluetooth turned on in the camera? ... sounds like the timing is about what a normal bluetooth device 'pulses/checks' at ??

have seen a few threads on here mentioning bluetooth interference also... cant remember what cameras though..

the drift seems to be sensitive to EMF interference. when I fire up my Sena SMH 10 I sometimes get some noise in the recording.

Yes, you need to have the mic in the opposite cheekpad from the bluetooth device!

The camera is picking up electromagnetic interference. You said it was near an airport, it's from the radar scanner they have there. The drift is not shielded so it picks up EMI easily.
If you live near a radio or TV station it makes it impossible to even use the camera without a proper EMI shield on the camera's body and all accessories. The mic cable becomes an antenna.
Another source of a slight white noise is the LCD display and backlight on the camera. You can notice this because you hear the noise when you start recording until the LCD turns off, then you hear it again when you press a button to stop.
