Anyone else integrating drone shots in their videos?

What's up guys. Happy New Year...

My first post in a while. I just bought a drone and I'm planning on using the footage in my videos this year. Maybe showing amazing scenery, or aerial shots of awesome corners on mountain roads etc.

Is anyone else doing this?

If you want to see some footage, let me know and I'll upload a sample. Still learning, but getting better.

Cheers guys

I gave up with my drone, flew it 27 times for a total of just 3 hours flight time. With their use getting more and more regulated it is getting harder to use them. I had the Mavic Pro, which is over the weight limit so would also need to be registered as well. I sold it and used to money to get another 360 camera instead.

I'm hoping to add a 360 cam to my arsenal soon too. Then I think it will be perfect and my videos will be AMAZING...maybe haha. I got a drone that's under 250g, actually the Japanese spec one is 199g apparently, so I can use it almost care-free except for this being Japan and there being rules about rules about rules

Would love to get some footage with drones but as Hippo stated the regulations here in the UK are getting rather strict.

As a viewer I really like when a vlogger uses more intricate ways to record footage, like with drones or 360 cams.

Check out my latest video. I did a kinda review on the drone, but the first minute of the video shows some videos that I've taken so far. Only had it 2 weeks, so not an expert yet, but getting better.

I wouldn’t mind getting my hands one one but as previously mentioned they are tightening their belts on the rules. I do enjoy seeing well executed drone shots. All these toys too much to chose from

I have a really cheap small drone. My country is also clamping down on drone rules, but not hecticly (we have bigger problems).

I've shot some footage but the camera inside the drone is really really bad and I'm not sure its powerful enough to carry a GoPro.

I have the Mavic Air, I had the DJI Phantom 3 Pro Before that that I got second hand to make sure I would use it, and to learn how to fly. The Mavic Air is SOOOOO much better, but I am glad that I started with the Phantom to get better at flying first lol
I doesn't get used much on my little day trips, but I always take it on my bigger trips and keep it easily accessible so when I do find an epic view it's not a drag to unpack. I feel like I use the Mavic Air more now because it's so small I can put it in my tank bag, whereas the Phantom 3 Pro had to be strapped to the back of my bike and it was a PROCESS to unpack and get set up.

Can't really use mine in this weather (dead of winter where I am), plus mine are pretty cheap and not rugged against the wind. I'm just using mine to learn to fly, but hope to get a high end one in late spring and early summer.

For those of us in the US who have monetized channels, you need an actually drone certification to place any drone footage on your channel since it's consider to be a professional job. That would require you to pass the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Exam to get your drone pilot's certification.

If your channels isn't monetized then you're good to go as long as you're following all rules and regulations.

I guess a get out of jail free card would be getting someone else to film it and then use their footage without paying them for it! ;-)

I've been really into drone FPV videos, havent seen much with motorcycles. But there are some really cool videos of drones following drifting cars. Oh and drones following rally cars is insane!

Added some drone footage in my latest upload. Pretty, picturesque bridge/river in the Japanese countryside. Getting my piloting skills up, but its pretty tricky. Feel free to head on over to my channel and have a look. Drone footage is at around the 13min mark

I dont think you have your channel linked on your profile but I will certainly be checking that out :)

Was looking at getting one but it getting to the stage where the chance of getting any use out of it will be limited where i will be looking at it's use . Like Hippo Drones a 360 Camera seems a better way to go.

If folk are after getting a drone, look at the facebook groups as there are some utter bargains with folk like myself selling them on after getting no justifiable use from them. I sold mine for £500, cost me nearly £1300, a mate got a Mavic Spark with loads of extras for around £300 :-)
