A Uk Vlogging Meet Up - Thoughts?!?!?!?!?

So...

In america they do several vlogging meets, where motovloggers and bike enthusiasts meet up, get loads of video done etc etc meet other vloggers, learn new information, establish potential duel vlogs and most of all find people who's already established communities could also be a fan of your content and expose them selves to one anothers audience, in turn helping one another to grow on youtube.

Its all positive and most of all it would be a brilliant day out.

If enough people here are interested i can get the ball rolling, i will arrange a date, location and make a facebook group to invite people and get the ball rolling.

but firstly and most importantly i need to hear all your thoughts :)

I think the weather could be the big factor in arranging a meet. Would have to be a weekend when I'm not working and Ms Captain Slow is bound to want to come along for the trip.

Is the Mersey tunnel free for rev-bombing on 2 wheels?

Yeahh they have it right in america, they can arrange meets and 9/10 it wont rain and if it does, not all day, or for a week.... but we could potentially srrange one soon, maybe with the last few days of sun, or we could plan it for the end of winter next year? Need to establish how many UK vloggers are on this forum, any ideas?

Not too sure how many are on here or how many registered members are still active. I've only been here for a couple of months myself.

For your channel with only 28 subscribers you have a very high view count on the first two vlogs. Maybe you should be giving me some pointers?

We asked this last year of the UK member base, people liked the idea, but it's settling on a place and finding a weekend that suits most people.

I think the boat has been missed this year, but if anyone wants to take the lead in getting a motovlog.com meet going, then Dan and myself will give all the assistance we can in promoting the topic and putting it on the Facebook page.

Ideally in organising a meet for people over a large area, you'd find information on hotels to suit various budgets, but you'd need to find them with adequate parking for bikes that's moderately secure, ie cameras, enclosed grounds etc.

Could organsise a ride although you'd only want a 30-40 mile one as if turnout is high, it takes forever to manage that many bikes.

To be fair though it always seem like the ride portion of the huge US meet ups end up as a cluster anyways haha

How many UK vloggers are their though, does anyone have a rough idea? i understand their are riders but ideally i would want to organise the vlogging team so we could video different places, camera angles etc etc and make some kind of trailer for a UK vlogging tour that could become a yearly thing where everyone meets up and we record highlights and so forth :)

I'm sure theres enough people to get one going but i think in the UK we're stuck in a little bit of a weird place for organising one.

For example, for a lot of the US motovloggers its a big trip with overnight stays, lending bikes instead of using their own and the weather is almost always not an issue. In the UK we're small enough that everyone can ride to the meet and back on the same day but just large enough that its a pain in the ass to do. I'd be up for one but really depends on how long id have to travel and whether id have to stay somewhere for the night.

Perhaps a few people from various corners of the UK need to attempt to organize regional DAY OUT rides. Then into next year, when the weather gets better, the organizers from each of those smaller meets, put together a WEEKEND event, that joins all the groups together. At least by then, the "local meets" would be quite nicely established, with regulars attending? For example, SW / Midlands / North, etc.

I will admit, while I've been playing with the "cheaper" Cams (without great success), I might be unlikely to have one should an event pop up soon. But I'd still be very interested to come along, from a biking perspective, checkout the rides / gear, meet new people, do the sociable thing. :)

This is a Q the Admins will surely know. They could pull off a UK list (based on peoples locations when they signed up), to get numbers in the UK (although it doesn't go down to "County").

The area box is voluntary and as on most forums is to help others out when commenting. Like if Argos has a sale on GoPro, no point telling an
American that etc.

Plus, it's for people to be here on the forum to read it. Plenty of folk around who don't use the forum any more, so they can't be targeted as part of a data pull.

So as with any group meet, Motovlog, Facebook, local friends. It's down to who's about in the lead up.
