A Teenager Suffered Serious Neck Injuries After Rope Tied Between Trees In St Neots Caused Him To Co

The 16-year-old was riding between Howitts Lane and Howitts Gardens, near the railway bridge, at 5.30pm on Friday (April 24).

The rope left him with serious injuries to his neck and wind pipe and he was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, where a police spokesman said he was in a serious, but stable, condition.

Detective Constable Diane Tomlinson said: “The young man is in a serious condition in hospital and I would like to speak with anyone who may know why the rope was tied to those trees, or who may have put it there.

“Anyone who uses the area, such as dog walkers, who may have information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, should call police.”

ive hit cables across trails ( i ride atv's ) 100 to 1 it was just someone who doesnt like anyone rideing anything there, ive seen ALOT of stuff like this. barbed wire on hill climbs and so on. basically its just someone trying to keep people out of an area. usually if you put a sign up noone cares or whatever so people figure if you fear for your life then you wont go there

Looking at Google Maps it's a housing estate and potentially a couple of pedestrians cut throughs/garage access lanes. Howitt Lane seems to become Howitt Gardens if you stick to the road.

ive seen a video of this on youtube where theres a group of dudes off roading and one of the guys gets caught up in a rope tied to trees at the height of his head. Luckily the guy wasnt seriously injured, but thats some twisted, messed up thing to do
