A little success!!

Well folks, its been a little over a month starting the channel and yesterday I had some real success, so I thought I would share here with y'all that know how difficult this stuff is!

YouTube decided that my video yesterday was good enough to put it out there for people to see. This morning at 5 AM pacific YouTube started putting my video out there and seeing if people would click on it and watch. Until today my most watched video was my fist tips video, in 3 weeks it had about 450 views. But yesterdays tip video has over 500 in only 24 hours! Even better I haven't advertised it on an forums or facebook.

My promo short of that is just one of the 7 tips also has been blessed by the various algorithm gods. YouTub decided it deserved 2500 views, not he usual 1500 or less. Even better than that TikTok decided it was a blockbuster and has forced 81,000 people to watch it.

But best of all I added over 30 subs on YouTube! This pushes me past the 100 subscriber mark. Over on TikTok I'm now over 1,000 followers.

Anyway, its nice to get some validation that I'm on a good track.

I find the algorithms on all platforms SO hit and miss, I have a video on tiktok with over 200k views and 20k likes, but then I also have videos with as little as 200 views, I reeeeeally don't understand it all!

Same with my youtube videos some have over 5k views while some don't make it over 50.. am I missing something or is it really just pot luck whether you get picked up or not?

@LimeyRider I assume you are talking shorts here. I have no idea what makes them take off. If I did I'd have a gazillion followers! What' I'm trying to do is just maximize the subscribers I get when one does take off.

The behavior that I have on TikTok shows that a large number of people go to my profile page when one of my videos takes off. My format of "7 things" and only presenting one thing drives them to the profile to see the other things. I'm hoping that the same thing is happening on YouTube, and it looks like that is the case. But I've never had a short go viral on YouTube. The best I get is about 4k views. YouTube gives my shorts between 0 and 2000 views on the shorts feed before it removes it. I have no idea how or why that number moves around.

I had been hoping that I could get people to platform switch from Insta/TT to YouTube. Near as I can tell that is not happening in any sizable numbers, so I'm about to give up on that. I'm considering posting my longer form content on TikTok, they now allow 10 minute videos.

Man I hate TikTok! But they love me, so maybe I have to rethink this thing.

Yea sorry, i was talking shorts. I;ve not had any long videos really take off tbh, just a couple of short ones.
I was confused about your "7 things", just checked it out, now it makes sense :D
Quite a good idea to be fair!

The algorithm seems to be the biggest code to crack on YouTube. My experience has been hit or miss even though I can post at the same time as a successful video. Some people are good at nailing this. I need to do a better job of it.

The Algorithm is a fickle mistress....
Not sure I could say mistress about anyone called Al
