6 Months How Many Subs?

Sounds about normal. Some channels grow very fast some very slow. Its more about retention than subs anyway.

Or you could be like me, I get my subs from 2 sources, one from people that like motorcycles, and one from the anime community. They start coming in at different times. Riders start watching and subbing to me at the end and start of the year where people consider changing motorcycles and are into watching motorcycle videos for more info. Anime nerds watch my event vlog coverage and music videos during the middle of the year where most events and cons are going on.

I don't have a lot of subs anyway though. One more thing is, it's harder to appeal to the actual motorcycling crowd because they are generally puritanical zealots, so try and make motorcycling content that appeals to non-hardcore riders that are somewhat interested in motorcycles.

9 months for my first 100 subs. It comes in spurts, ill get 8 in a week, then nothing for the next 2 weeks.

I have gotten 30 subs within 1 year :')
About 1-2 per 3 weeks now I've begun with "vlogging".
Channel already existed from the year 2010.

4 years + 1 video = 5 subscribers. Gotta start somewhere right? LOL, I even stated in the detail NOT to subscribe, cause I wasn't planning on making any more videos and didn't want to waste anybody's patience.

But I do plan on starting a new channel altogether for motovlogging. Hopefully with more consistent content it'll go somewhere.

My first upload was May 17th 2016 and I currently have 97 subs I think on July 15th 2016. But that has gone up and down a bit. I was hoping for that 100 this week so I could get the custom URL lol I even have a thank you vid in the can for it. But instead I went from 98 down to 97. Its all good though. I try to stay focused on having fun with it and less on the numbers.

If I remember correctly this was my trip thus far:

100 - year
1000 - 2 years
3000 - 3 years

Now I am sitting at 3200, and have most of year 4 ahead. If the math is sound I should hit 7000 by the time June 2017 rolls around. But I don't mind if I don't get there. This is a hobby and a labor of love for me. If it ever goes somewhere, great! If not, still going to be making those videos! Although, as of late I did see I gained a little traction. No where near those channels that blow up to 100k in a matter of days though. More like I gained 150-200 subs in a month vs 100-150 ish.

Wow. In 3 years?

I've been motovlogging for almost 2 years and im only at 250 subs.

All depends really. I wouldn't really take much notice of subs but more your view count and the percentage viewed of your videos.

For comparison, I'm at 500 (hit it today, WOO!) after 4 months.

I'm at 49 subs after over a year of making videos. That said a lot of my videos are sorta niche market... lol i'm not much good at thinking of things to talk about or actually talking about them hahaha

Man you must be doing something right. I started about a week earlier than you and I'm only up to 12 subs.

Who knows man, I'll have to check our your channel. All I can say is that I tried to come up with specific days of the week to release on and stick to it. Like hold myself accountable no matter what the numbers say. Of course I hope the content is interesting. I will say I just got 100 yesterday! Woohoo! Uploaded a thank you video today.

It is no success story when people only accept you as legit if you have 100k subscribers. I however don't care about just that subscriber number. It's the community. I am actually also part of the car community. More so than the MotoVlog community due to the amount of car videos I produce. I just love it all! And the people I meet on the net and in person due to having a YouTube channel? BOOM! the best thing in the world!
