I demoed the BMWR18 at Laconia (vlog coming next week) and loved it! I wish they had one of these faired models as they look amazing. What are your thoughts about these new rides? Full write up and more pics in the link below in the cnet article.

I like the Transcontinental, I think it would be a super successful bike if there were more BMW dealers around. Looks damn sharp though!

Overall I think it looks good, but I don't like how the boxer engine sticks out so far. Yes, I understand that's due to the engine choice, but it looks like it negates highway pegs, which I use all the time on my Harley.

Looks like a Road Glide and a Challenger had a baby.

They have a highway setup. Check out the video by BMW. The demo it. I was thinking an Electraglide and a R9T.

Eh, I love the low boxer in my Goldwing. Keeps the weight down low and makes the bike feel MUCH lighter than it actually is. Doesn't seem to hurt lean angles any either! :D

When I rode the R18, the shake was nominal and enjoyable! Maybe it was just something different than my experience on Harley's all these years, but it was a fun feeling through my legs and rear. My worry was how close he jugs get to ground when cornering, I feel like I would end up dropping it at some point and scrape that beautiful engine.

The shake is mostly just off idea when one blips it. I think it more induced on the R18 in Rock mode. Even my R1200 does the hula a little bit, but it's smoother overall, which is not to say it's smooth like a 6 at all, but it's own kind of smooth. Reminds me of a cessna.
