Hi, I am new to this site and to riding a scooter. I am not very mechanically inclined either. My scooter had been sitting for quite a while when I purchased it but I got it running fairly quickly. I opened it up to see if it still had the restrictor ring in the variator but it didn't. My friend was trying to help me and accidentally broke part of the clutch. I assumed the scooter would still crank up. After I put everything back together and tried to start it, it seems like there is one place where the variator spins that seems very tight. I still haven't been able to replace the rear clutch assembly. Would that make it where it won't even start?

Welcome. I imagine that you would be better off asking a group/forum for the type of motorcycle you own, this forum is for motovloggers; people who make videos while riding their bikes.
