That was aimed at Lupin, cuz his screen grab of the sidebar shows HIS sub status to those channels, not yours.

Also remember that motovlogging is a tiny drop in the YouTube ocean....

I have to agree that the "popular channels" are not related to the channel you are viewing, below is @Superballs channel when I view it, I pick his as an example because the last video I watched was his and it was easier to just view the channel after that. If you want to know how your channel sits, looking at "related channels" will be more accurate.



In response to OP's question, I honestly have no tactic or plan when it comes to promoting or pushing the channel, I just post videos which I feel like doing, and if people watch it and like it, they can leave a like, or sub, all up to them. I have not done the click-bait, free-stuff, top-5, viral/trending, etc type of videos even though I'm pretty sure those can get probably get you some kind of boost, I prefer not to. Maybe after the 100k mark I might try some top-5 kinda stuff just for fun, I want to keep my pre-100k clean without resorting to any of the above "tactics", yes sure it will be slow but I'm not in a hurry.

If your making youtube videos to make money, well sadly bunging videos up with you riding about will most likely never make you much dosh at all. Unless you go for click bate, SEO, and some other nasty stuff and as well as get lucky. Promote promote and promote.

If on the other hand you take it as a hobby and enjoy the ride then what even happens is a win

Seriously tho, motovlogging for 99% of people is never going to payout. You will get move views getting you mum to slap you in the face with a wet fish and posting that on YouTube, hell Id watch that!

Try thinking of something unique that you can do to grab viewers and have them say "this guy is different than the others!" How long have you been in the game? What do you do to promote your channel? Sadly, most of the content that is doing well right now, like Jake Paul or Logan Paul, are oriented at young kids that enjoy the lowbrow, over-the-top garbage their "role models" produce. You may want to try branching out and trying something new if what you're doing up until now is not giving you the results you want mate!

I believe as a community, we should help each other out. Youtube relies on traffic and interaction. So if we're all constantly reacting (Liking or even Disliking, Commenting etc..) and visiting each others content, you will find your videos/channel will go up in the "pecking order". Also, viewers/subscribers etc... like consistency, if you upload at least once a week and show fresh new content and try not to recycle old content then you will most likely obtain new subscribers.. especially if its entertaining.. Ideally, you need a Personality and a hook. But always make content because you enjoy it. Don't chase the "dream" or Money. You're only setting yourself up to fail as your subs/viewers will see right through you.

There are multiple methods that many of the now-big YouTube channels have used in the past and present to boost their channels. Stuff like:

• collabs between channels to expose their audience to eachother's content
• Posting and promoting their videos outside of YouTube (Reddit, Forums, Blogs, Etc.)
• Viral Content (This is a big one, but also the hardest to truly do)
• Paid Promotion
• Etc.

The main trick is getting exposure. A lot of the time, people coming into YouTube who want to make money with it don't understand what really goes into it. The way most of these big channels stay big is that they actually enjoy what they do and don't just churn out content for the sake of doing so. That and people also tend to just upload and pray it gets attention. Sure you might get a few views here and there but that's not an efficient way to get it noticed. If you create good content that people like and expose it to enough people (i.e. Posting it on a related subreddit and using the algorithm in your favor to try and get it to the front page, or even onto r/all), it will start snowballing.

Gotta be careful with reddit.
Its a very salty community and moderators have tools to check your YT post frequency against other posts.
they like to see only 20% of reddit posts made by yourself to be deemed self promoting eg: Youtube.
However if you find your best vid and post it, do it (if in the UK) around 11pm time, as America wakes up and they have a much larger audience.
You could get anywhere between 100 - 500 hits in a night on a good 20K+ reddit forum.

Yeah, that's the tricky part. Self-promoting on forums is hard because you have to really integrate yourself to not get flamed to hell. 99% of the time if you just pop in out of nowhere and promote yourself, most people will just look at it as spam garbage and crucify you.

Reddit can eat a huge cock.

If you manage to get a video on there it is a huge viewing audience. However it's not a good or constructive one, or one that will give you any decent watch time.
