My edits are quite minimal, most of the edits are actually spent on putting some subtitles here and there.

Probably 1-2 hours for a 10 minute clip. It gets ridiculous when I'm making a music edit. That can take 4+ hours for a 3-4 minute video.

I have an intro/outro I edit in, I do compression, EQ and volume adjustments on the sound and sometimes contrast/color correction on the video footage. My raw video is usually 35-40 min. long, because that's my trip to/from work, so there's a lot of cutting and cross-fading, too. Then I put in the silly rage faces, elephants and other stuff. Takes me about 1/2 hour usually.

thats a ton of work for 1/2 hour...I'll get there someday. My latest rant was on my 17 minute ride to work and I got about 10 minutes I used. that took about 1 1/2 hours with the intro, outro, figuring out how to put a logo in the corner for the entire thing...(also had a little research to make sure what I was saying was correct). Had to take out quite a bit as I, the ever level headed guy who doesn't get mad, got a little to pissed

When I was first learning to use Vegas, it took me a lot longer. Now I have presets I can use for a lot of stuff. I have it labeled like "Motovlog EQ", "Motovlog Compression" etc.

If you're uploading to YouTube, you can upload what they call a watermark, essentially a pic/logo and they will automatically put it in the corner of all your videos. It even acts as a link to your subscribe button if you want. Easier than editing it in to all your video. you can access that feature in the creator tools part.

Recently, I changed my mic/camera setup and it gave me fits! Never change a bunch of stuff at once. It's like starting all the way over.

Depends on what try of video I am doing if its an encounters video i add alot of text and cross fades. if its a vlog I have to syn cameras but make less cuts and less text.

My vlogs are usually about 6 minutes long, and it's all one continuous take. They probably only take me 5 - 10 mins from starting to edit to when I hit render, and that's with 2 camera's. But a test ride video can take a while having to cut up an hour or twos footage down to 10 mins.

Swiss...you just made MrJoel feel a lot better ;)

Check out my latest video and you might see why. I had to boost the audio levels where my mum spoke and there are cuts everywhere.

Some videos can only take 2x the video length if it's a dull run of the mill vlog but I try to avoid doing too many of those as they don't interest me.

Depends on the subject, the event and how many cameras for me. My last video was a mass ride through town with 2 cameras. 3 hrs of footage and took about 12 hours of editing to end up with 2 videos. one 20 minues, the other 10.

On the flip side, I made a video riding to work which had 30 minutes footage, 2 cameras and it needed about 1.5 hrs editing for a 10 minute video.

Same here. If it takes a bit of extra effort and time in the editing, I generally find that it comes across in the final product and the enjoyment folks seem to get from it. The odd quick and dirty simple vlog is satisfying but I always feel a real sense of achievement after toiling away with several angles and some music. Like painting a little masterpiece!

I'm trying to spend as little as possible on the edit, however I still need to get better with my chatting so I don't have to cut things up so much.

It's why you're one of my favourites :)

For a 5 min long video, I spend about 1,5 hours on editing (Final Cut Pro)...... actually a lot for a short video, but I enjoy editing

all depends on the video and the content. some things require less cuts and corssfades, somethings are quite ridiculous and have lots of editing.

but I think the nights I edit I spend 2-3 hours editing and dicking around to get 2-3 videos
