How Often Do You Post Motovlogs?

As a viewer, how often do you expect to see new material, and do you post vids according to that number?

Viewers usually expect something every week, but if you make it clear that you have no schedule and will post if and when you are free, then they should understand and accept it. However if you want to have a schedule, then you have to commit to it. Unless you are really serious (which I'm not) about posting your motovlogs, I don't see why have such a commitment, in the long run it usually means you have to make sh*t up just to meet your schedule, which also tends to make viewers start to get bored with your lack of good content.

Just a thought.

That's true. Even the big vloggers (100.000+) end up just rambling on about something alot of the time.
Seems like finding good topics is the hardest part of vlogging
Although some are impressivly good at keeping a schedule and pumping out good content.

I personally post once I have a video ready. [But I only have 15 and a half videos so far]
When it comes to those I subscribe to, I just watch them when they appear, and I'd rather they focused on quality than fueling an urge to churn out to a schedule.

That was a common theme, I believe, in a recent thread

Scheduling isn't really important as the day you release the video makes little difference and people subscribe to so many channels they generally won't notice if you're a day or two late.

I aim for a new video every Wednesday and I think I've achieved that twice :p

I try for 1 a week but it is down to free time to edit and upload. Loads of footage but you guys n girls only get to see less than 1% of it. Granted the other 99% may be pure rubbish ;)

Wow you guys record that much / long? I usually just turn on the recording, do the ramblings, and turn it off in between anything interesting. That being said my longest posted video is 2 hours plus long. LoL!

If I'm on the bike, I'm recording. You never know what you are going to run across (stupid drivers) or when an idea is going to pop into your head to talk about.

I vlog because the camera is running; the camera isn't running because I vlog.
I bought my camera because of my [ex]housemate being in 2 accidents, one of which wasn't her fault and resulted in a bit of liability dispute [even thought it was a classic SMIDSY]

Maybe it's not the place, but for those who are recording all the time: which mode do you use? Infinite loop or normal recording? If you have no problems, just delete all the footage? You do something with it?

The amount of footage I can get on my card exceeds the battery duration [actually exceeds both batteries...], so I don't need to worry about the loop recording. I just set it to record as normal.
Then, I copy to a hard drive and delete from the card when I need to charge the camera.

If the footage was boring, though, I just delete it straight off. Then, once I've made use of the other footage - or deemed it not needed - I delete that from the hard drive. I'm not going to go back to it.

Thanks mate! Might be doing something like that, but with no mic in commutes.

I record normally. I have a 3 hour battery life and card space for just over 3 hours of video. I usually transfer all video to my computer and review it to see if there is anything usable. If nothing, then it gets deleted.

Great topic, I responded to another blogger who brought up the same thing. Not sure if I'll have a schedule or not. This is supposed to be fun and I have a generally busy life.

I commute every day so I am always recording. If I go out on the weekend, recording.

Before I started vlogging - I built up a nice library of footage to utilise and now try to have videos scheduled in advance. I have things like group rides etc just sitting there for those times I don't have something to say.

If you build up a buffer when you are on a schedule - you can afford the time to get better footage or have off weeks.
