Shoei Rf1100 Chin Mount Help Needed

Hi everyone. Who here has a Shoei RF1100 and use a chin mount with a GoPro? I'm wondering what the best way to mount it is because of the shape of the helmet itself. I've tried two methods but none of them look clean and the 3M isn't completely on the helmet so it's always sketchy. If anyone knows of a video for a set up that's specific to my helmet and is a secure set up, please let me know!

I use the Shoei RF1100 with a GoPro chin mount and my only solution was the 3M sticky mount on the chin. You are right that it doesn't adhere fully because of the shape, but I have been in an offroad crash, over jumps, and on the highway with the mount and no issues so far. Those 3M mounts are really tough. You have to make sure the surface is super clean before attaching it for sure.

Thanks for the reply! I have tried mounting it on the chin and I don't think I had it adhered well enough :( After about 3 months, it fell off and now I have it sorta to the side haha.

Here is a pic, the stupid amount of wire is in the way of a good view sorry. I mounted the sticky to the lower angle on the chin.

I've tried mounting mine (SJ4000) in the same place on my AGV, but put the mount the other way up, so the camera is "hanging", rather than "stuck up". This means you can mount it a bit higher, where the helmet is less contoured.

I've also used 3M Dual Lock (Velcro on steroids) to stick it onto the helmet, so I can remove the whole mounting system and leave very little behind when I'm not using it.

ooooo the dual lock sounds like it might help. I'm gonna have to go check it out

XR/RF 1100 3M mount on the front just below the chin vent. I had that setup on for my ride back to my hometown for the holidays, no issues at high speeds.

I used SUGRU to mount a GoPro to my helmet. I know RoyalJordanian uses it too. I made a short video on how to fasten the mount to the chin of my helmet.
