Don't worry about talking normally.
You have an accent so everyone understands... :D

Seriously though, just speak as if you are talking to one of your friends or yourself, but extra clearly.
Also if you mess up or think of a better way to say something, just repeat the idea again (Take Two, etc.). In editing you clip out and delete the parts you don't want and leave the better 'takes'. Speak clearly and cover you mic with fur or foam to reduce wind roar. It's amazing how much subtle sounds and vocals are lost between the helmet, wind, the motorcycle engine and just talking too softly (normally). Good audio is vital and often overlooked. If we can't hear or understand you it becomes a noisy ride of frustration for the viewer.

Like anything, it takes some practice. Keep it light, have fun and you'll be half way there.

Just went for a quick ride then and got some test footage, didn't do too bad! Wind noise at 60km/h and below isn't too bad and I will be able to make the contour roam work for my intro vid and walk around my bike vid but for any further serious talking /vlogging I will need to move to a camera with a microphone.

A mate uses a drift ghost and his videos are wind roar free. I like the look of the contour roam 2 though - thoughts?

Well good. So you are experimenting and learning. That's how you start.

I use two GoPro Heros. So I can't answer specifics about the Contour Roam or Drift Ghost. Does your camera have a microphone jack? So you could attach a mic to the camera but place the mic inside your helmet? That's what I do with the GoPro on my helmet to record vocal audio.

What you probably learned or may realize is that wind roar will happen if the microphone is exposed to wind. That's really the only issue you need to address there. It won't matter what camera or microphone you use. If your friend's videos are wind roar free that simply means that the wind is not blasting across the mic. Either because he shields it; like with fur, OR it's place in a way that the wind turbulence shelters it. Sorta just got lucky with the shape of everything and camera placement. For example behind a wind shield/ fairing.

Others who have your camera will probably be able to help you out better with specifics.

About to go do some filming tomorrow hopefully. The weather has turned bad for today. Trying to get used to talking normally when recording!

Just don't think about it. Let it flow naturally. That's why we edit.

It comes down to mike placement. Trust me. It's something I've been working on since day one with my videos and I use a Drift Ghost.

The Scout is an amazing bike. But after riding the Vegas, the Scout might feel light for you. You'll notice the extra HP a whole lot more, though. The Classic would be closer to what you're used to. But you can't go wrong with Indian. I found that out firsthand. Just be comfortable with what ever you ride. Love it and it will love you back.

I'm a mad man on a cruiser.. in the sense that I love them all. I've owned a Star Stryker, Vrod, and now the Vegas in my cruiser stable. That said, I've test road and rented lots of other models- just about everything on the market. I cant wait to get back to the states, so I can test ride the scout. I love the looks. The reviews have been great. However, I agree with you in that one needs to be comfortable on the bike. Some bikes look great and perform great, but they don't fit everyone. I know this, if the Scout fits me well- I'm getting one. The Vegas 8ball is a great muscle cruiser. There is nothing wrong with mine.. I do love it as well. But sometimes you just want to change, just cause you can.

I use a drift ghost and still get wind noise over 60mph. It's all about the helmet, mic placement, and speed. I'm going to be switching helmets in the spring. Moving from my HJC so a Scorpion. There isn't much else in my size as I wear a 3x. Big Frigg'n head.

I hope you fall in love when you ride. I do. Every time. My chief makes my heard race in the best ways possible. If it turns out not to be too light for you, I know the scout will as well. My ride on one was amazing. If only I wasn't 6'6". I would have one sitting next to my Vintage. And my wife wants another Vintage. Go figure. ;)

I love the Chief as well. That said, if I got something that expensive, there is noway I could afford two bikes.

I like the Roam too and found out how to make it work in the wind. I plan on launching a Kickstarter Campaign by the end of this month showing how this works so I can get this out on the market. The YouTube channel in the signature block will take you to my personal channel where there is a link to my Innovation Channel. (I am working of fixing the link issues here on Motovlog)

A-HA! I fixed the signature issue. It now takes you to my Innovation YouTube Channel!

I ride a Harley VRod and I'm getting into motovlogging. If you want to subscribe to my channel I posted a video in this forum called welcome to the road vlog. Nice video I like seeing all different types of bikes do the vlogs.

I dig the VRod. It's a nice ride. I subbed your channel earlier and I'm gonna check out the vids tonight. Thanks for joining the G+ community. We're glad to have you. It's brand new so it will be fun to see it pick up traction.
