No high viz here, helmet is matte black and leathers are matte black.
And yes...don't you hate slow drivers?

I would love to have a matte black helmet, but scared as i commute on my bike and do think the bobble head makes some sort of difference with people seeing me.

I think a louder exhaust has got to be he best safety investment though.
It is on the list of stuff I want to improve on my bike.

I alternate between white and hi-viz helmets depending on lighting conditions (in bright light, white is just about as visible but in low light the hi-viz is amazing). I like the color actually, but it's not as common in the states as in Europe, so maybe that's why. I'd love to feel ok wearing a flat black one to match my bike again, but getting hit by a car sucks and I'll do anything to help cars see me better. Subbed from another female rider :)

I am active duty, and I am required to wear high vis. I have jackets and pants that are black and have silver highlights through out, along with the glow in the dark piping sewn it. The way people drive in Maryland I would not be ashamed to wear all bright orange, it may keep me alive.

Black silhouettes nicely against the sky, since you're sitting higher than most drivers. My helmet is matte black with a high viz matte stripe, best of both worlds IMO.

I wear hi viz at work so try to avoid :-) but I have a winter jacket with bits of hi vis on ..black and white helmet ....that shoei is the nuts :-)

I don't go hi viz in general but I did get a white helmet as I generally think that is what cagers will notice. You notice that motor bike cops all have white helmets....for the same reason.

I thought they had white helmets due to lower cost and having to be uniform in appearance?

I don't wear hi-viz, but I do actively try to be visible. I put myself in people's mirrors and I always make sure I have an emergency exit.
Good strategy, Always good to think about road position.

I did one of those bike safe courses run by the police and they told us their helmets were white for visibility :)

nice vlog. I do it when I commute- early mornings and afternoons. I figure I need to mitigate risk as much a possible. You can't depend on hiviz to save your ass. But it does help. Humans are visual creatures- unless they are texting ;)

I know that nothing is too much when it comes to safety but to me it kind of is. Though it's good to have high viz gear , it really depends on the country (light levels , drivers etc) and the distances you travel. I don't because , at most , I'll drive for 6 miles of city roads. If I had to travel longer distances (or the same distance but on a highway) I would definitely wear them.

My other form of hi-viz...

My headlight has an orange hue to it as well, helps cagers to pick you out in a sea of DRLs.
