Rainproofing the Drift Ghost with external mic

Hey everyone,

I'm just wondering how the other Drift ghost users make their camera rainproof while using an external microphone, or if anyone has any top tips they'd like to share?

At the moment I just use the non-waterproof back (the one with the USB/audio ports and rubbery plugs) and wrap a band of electrical tape around it. Does anyone else have a better solution or know of/use any third party products that might help?

I use the drift 1080p and have same problem. I used blue tac around the gap. I no longer vlog or record in the rain.

I've not used my Drift Ghost in anything worse than a light shower. At that point, there was no water penetration. However, if I had to use it in heavy rain, I'd probably use a bit of tape.

ive been out in the rain with nothing and mines fine tbh, just dont go out in really bad rain

if you dont mind my asking CBRHoonigan what sd card do you use, i just ordered the ghost s i havent bought a card yet, i know ive had problems with the gopro depending on the brand and speed of the card

When I was vlogging in heavy rain, I used the transparent paper you wrap your food with and covered the camera with it.
In light rain there is no problem, the camera will take it.

I've had my drift for nearly two years and filmed all Weathers.

I've never had an issue

I got caught in some 'vertical river' HEAVY rain last month? ... Not an issue... My non drift mic has an elbow type plug and fits in VERY snug to the port ... Plus I make sure I angle the elbow downwards ... It's only a $20 microphone ... The elbow type plugs tend towards being fatter than a straight plug anyway...

I'll get around to edit and upload the rainy ride soon...

Nope, just have the backdoor which allows the mic.

It's always pointing down at the back anyway, when would it get more than splashes on lol, never submerged ever

I also use the the external mic in all weathers without any modifications.

Had no problems yet...

Same - no modifications. Heavy rain might cause an issue though.

You shouldn't really get much water in there, along as you're moving

Funny to see this thread bumped as I just had an issue with my Drift under light rain.
Seems like a water droplet got into the way of the microphone shorting it out. I ended up with a chunk of video completely silent. This happened last night and I just noticed watching the footage.
