GoPro Adhesive Removal on Bike?

I want to try a few different camera angles but I'm worried about using the adhesive mounts on my bike. Have any of you tried to stick it to the bike? on the paint, swing arm, fairings, etc.? How did removing the adhesive work for you?

I've only ever used one adhesive mount and it's the one that is on the side of my helmet, haven't tried to remove it yet.
 
I was wondering the same question the other day, but i put a 2nd pad on my helmut anyway.

In the past ive only mounted on the bike on Steel or Alloy parts (Raw), so it can be scraped+cleaned properly with no paint issues.
Watchout mounting on an Un-Shockered part, i destroyed a camera over time, mounting it to the Brake caliper. It took ALL vibrations and sudden bumps, without the cushion of Suspension.

Im now trying to devise a way of making some 'Plates' that bolt on, then the mounting pads/Camera arm/etc., are stuck/mounted on the plates.
No mess, No fuss. (kinda lol)

Up to you with attaching to paint, but hava think about the Add-on Plates??

I read that all you need to do is get some tooth floss and slide that between the mount and what its bonded to. I did it when I took the mount off my old helmet and it worked a treat!
 
I've heard of the tooth floss method, but you could scratch paint. The other option is a hair dryer/heat gun. Get the adhesive hot and it will peel off, but I still worry about taking some paint/clear coat with it. I've been thinking of using my suction mount, but still the same worries. I do like the idea of making a piece of metal that I could fasten wherever with a GoPro mount. I would like to be able to just stick it on my license plate bolt and have it rest a few inches away. Or hell... My license plate in general. Haha. I don't care as much about getting a ticket as I do about damaging the paint on my bike.
 
Yep.. Warm it .. Twist it.... Funky sticky bits? Teatree oil and cloth.... I've got gunk off all over my bike with tea tree oil! .... Or eucalyptus oil ... Only need a little bottle ... Should be able to get teatree oil in just about any country if you look at a health food style shop or maybe chemist/drugstore ... Or even just order online ... It's not illegal anywhere far as I know.

Yep this is by far the best method :)
