You do, unfortunately, run the risk of voiding any personal injury aspect of your insurance if you have a crash whilst wearing this helmet, whether it is your fault or theirs, because you have intentionally made a modification to the helmet which damages the integrity of the safety device.simeitg said:

That seems like it could be very dangerous to your face/skull in a crash. A bolt can take a pretty good amount of force and shear before it breaks, much more than plastic and foam. The bolt may end up inside of you in a crash. I don't think it would impact the integrity of the shell or the impact foam but I certainly wouldn't want it in my helmet.
I use industrial 3m doublesided contruction/automotive tape and its stronger than anything I have come across.

I don't think it is in the UK. I do think this is one crazy idea though to be honest. I would not want that screw in my face if I came off

Definitely does not look right, in Australia u get fined for sticking a camera on your helmet, could just imagine what will happen if they see a screw dug into your helmet to hold the camera lol

I second the 3M adhesives. Last thing I want is a bolt through my face after going through all that trouble to buy and wear a helmet to protect my face. (grin) 3M products are awesome. Worst case, get some shoe goo and hand craft a silicone blob mount. Don't ever drill holes in the shell of a helmet. That's the first point of shell failure in an impact. Please folks, don't intentionally put a spear in too...(let's all treat this as a "design prototype" that is a FAIL. What we learned here is that GoPro mounts need some beefing up for motovlogging. Any product designers out there that want to take a crack at a better solution?

It's bullshit. So many of us are riding around with camera's and never a peep. If someone were to be fined for having a GoPro camera attached to thier helmet, then it would be all over the media.

Yeah, over here, if the Police had their way, NO-ONE would have a bike and we'd be all driving round in Peddle cars. Proll still get pulled over for speeding or some shite tho?
I just Cannot wait to get pulled over for the Camera, ive read the reg's front to back. Absolutely NO mention of Cameras, cables, how things attach, etc.

Yeah, I've heard of this before.
Thing is, Here over west, The popo have undercover bikes and their riders have helmet cams to catch people in the act using mobile phones and what not.
If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me.
