Drones, what are you using?

Where's my coffee?
I've been looking at adding one to my gear bag. Current;y looking at the DJI Mini 2, but noticed it doesn't have a Follow Me mode. Not a deal breaker, but would be nice to have.

Any one else using drones and have a good reccommendation? Keep in mind, I'm a very novice fllier. I've dabbled with the ones my son has a few times, but not much.

I own the DJI Mini 2 and I love the thing. Yeah it doesn't have follow nor AI avoidance so you have to actually fly it, but it's great for aerial filming and photography.

I use it once and awhile for motovlogging whenever I can fit it in, but I mostly use it just for the fun of it!

I have a Spark. It does well for what I use it for. The follow me mode can get finicky so it is best to have another person to act as pilot if you want to get footage of yourself riding.

I'm mostly looking at it for B Roll. I want to seriously up the production game over winter. I do have the advantage of my wife riding with me, and can use her as a camera person if needed.

I have the original mavic mini. The size is great for bringing along on a motorcycle.

I paid for the Litchi app, which does let you use follow me and tracking on the mini. Though with no obstical avoidance, only use it in big wide open spaces or with enough altitude to make sure you clear everything.

I don't have my own but when I want to take arial shots, I ask my brother if he can fly his DJI Magic 2 Pro around for a bit. He has the drone and is a much better pilot than I could ever be.

I'm another DJI Mavic Mini user. I love the compact fold-out size of it, and have the "bird cages" for indoor flight.. just in case.
I only use it for personal use since I don't have the FAA part 107.
I've thought about it, but haven't justified the investment yet. With the knowledge required to pass the test, I'd be more inclined to just become a pilot at that point haha:p.

Haven't had much chance to fly it. The whole house ended up sick as hell, so I basically got 1 test flight in. But it is SUPER easy to fly, and the shots I got around my house came out cool. I can definitely see myself using this a lot.

I hope the illness is nothing serious but it does not sound like it.

I have 2 cheap drones (under a $100 USD each), one of which I found and brought back to life. I haven’t flown in a while due to the pandemic, but I want to mount my Insta 360 to my big one since it’s camera doesn’t have stabilization. I would also like to get certified by taking the FAA part 107 course. I’m hoping next summer will allow that process to start.

I started motovlogging with a DJI mavic Mini, but found I hardly ever used it because the locations I wanted to drone were too windy and it was just too risky to fly a 249g drone off a cliff, way out over the ocean or far off into the bush. I noticed Itchy boots was using a Mavic Air 2 and getting amazing shots at high altitudes in very open windy wilderness areas, so I sold my mini and got one. It's definitely much more of a beast in the wind, I feel far more confident with it. It still folds down small enough to fit neatly in the pannier and has far more video and automatic options, plus a far better camera. So, my vote is spend a bit extra and get the Air 2.

Almost 2 weeks of brutal but we're finally coming down off it. Bet you can guess what it ended up being....
That stinks. My assistant at work got COVID-19. She had the brain fog for months and fatigue nearly as long.
