Osmo Action 2 Leaks

Guys, did you see the Osmo Action 2 leaks? What did you think? I had been excited when I heard that DJI was going to release Osmo 2 but after I saw what was leaked I was totally disappointed, I didn't like what I saw so far.
Meanwhile, I'm still living my love-hate relationship with GoPro...

I'm actually kind of excited about it.

I've wanted a modern GoPro Session camera for years but GoPro refuses to make one. I think this is smart of DJI to go after an opening which GoPro has been too stupid to address. Plus I'm not super happy with my Hero 8 camera, it has some quirks which irk me and the newer GoPros have not been much of an improvement in what matters.

If DJI can nail this one and it works great I think it will sell boatloads.

After the official release we will have access to more images and details of Osmo 2. From what I've seen so far, I didn't like the system they created of fitting pieces together, it doesn't seem like something so portable for motovlog...

It's not clear whether it will be possible to connect an external microphone, or I didn't quite understand.

The battery time without the extra battery pack is much lower than the GoPro 5 session from what I read in the specs.

I'd also wanted an evolution of gopro's session line, for now I'm looking for a used Session 5 in good condition to buy here...if I don't find it, I'll go to Osmo action.

Not seen them, post up some pics and specs!

Ahh so modular like the Insta360 One R, that is a bit of a shame as the only way to add power is with their bolt on bits which double the size of the camera

Exactly! It doesn't make any sense...we motovloggers should band together and create a motovlog camera company...enough is enough!!! :p
I've always thought a modular action camera would be best. Meaning a design where the lens is a separate little module, the battery pack is its own module, and the mic is external too, and they are all connected by thin wires. This way we could mount the small lens on the front of the helmet, the mic up inside the helmet, and the battery pack to the back of the helmet or down in our jacket even, making for a small form factor that hardly doesn't look like we have action cameras mounted at all. Plus it would make all parts interchangeable, so the lens or the mic could easily be upgraded, even the battery pack size could be increased easily.

I really liked the concept! Soon we'll give you feedback about the Product Development Director position at our company :p

There are, or at least have been, POV cameras, where the 120 degree lens is separate from the recording unit. I believe there was even a one, that would keep ~60 second buffer all the time, so if you see something cool, you just press record, and have the last 60 seconds included. I have no idea if there are any nowdays, that would have the quality to compete with action cameras.

I like the idea of being all in one unit, and it would be important for everything to be waterproof and easy to exchange to another helmet. The shape and size of the Gopro Session would be ideal, but with a better battery solution and external microphone without that s*** adapter

Ya. I'm a little disappointed. I also don't like the verticle form factor with the battery pack attached.
I wasn't liking the Gopros growing in size and getting bigger with the media mod but Osmo Action 2 managed to overcome that...what the heck those guys are thinking with this tower format???

I don't even think you can add a memory card to it unless you have the other module attached. Way off the mark for our use, probs fine for the casual user though.

nothing in this camera is for me. Starting from modularity, small screen, no card in main body, ending on ridiculously wide angle lens. Sorry no... And that's a pity as osmo action 1 was really good camera and 2 could be a good gp10 alternative. Unfortunately it's not. Let's hope that sales will be a disaster and they will make it right then
