Binned off my un social networks

Neil - The Rider Guider
Long time no speak my lovelies, hope you're all well and staying safe where ever you are in this crazy world.

Like many of us, I've been busy with life and recently decided to make room for more productive ways to enjoy my YouTubing. I realised I was putting too much pressure on myself cutting and pasting and sharing my stuff to insta, FB and the wherever's .... all in the hope someone would watch one of my uploads ... it dawned on me that the only place I wanted my stuff was on YouTube, if people can't find it there, well where the hell are they looking? That's the first and last place I look for content these days, if it aint there it probably don't exist .... so I've completely shut my FB and related 'moto' page, along with my twitter and my instagram. I'm refreshed, the only thing I need to concentrate on is the most enjoyable part ... being my YouTube channel. Looking at my stats the majority of my views came from Google search and YouTube directly anyway so long may it continue.

Does anyone else just have YouTube and nothing else?

Ride safe everyone!

Neil

PS .... I have a load of Rider Guider Stickers and a limited number of Tool Box magnets if anyone wants some, PM me your address and I'll stick some in the post for ya's.

Hi Neil, welcome back. If that makes you happier, it is the right thing to do. I'm actually taking a break from YouTube at the mo, still doing the social media though :-)

I have a Facebook page and I have just started an Instagram page.
I rarely have time to do biking stuff so I don't upload much to anywhere.
It's not something I stress about, but it's nice to get the odd like or interaction when I do manage to post something.

I do instagram, but not to promote my channel, just personal stuff. Only a few people I follow on there are also people I'm subbed to on YouTube. Maybe in the future I'll promote my channel on insta, but I'm not trying to be YouTube famous, just having a good time with it.

Now I only have this place I just need to remember/learn the forum rules ... I keep posting stuff that I shouldn't or just in the wrong place ... I'm like a naughty school kid that doesn't mean to get told off but can't help myself :D #motovlogtourrettes

I just got an Instagram account for posting pics of bikes and related life stuff.

I've also tied my personal site to my FB page to my Instagram, and my Twitter, so there's very little for me to manually do anymore.

For me, it's not much effort. I'll sit down each night and peruse the gallery on my phone and if there's something I think is applicable, I'll post it to Instagram. This automatically goes to FB and Twitter.

If I write a blog post on my site, it automatically gets posted to my site's FB page and Twitter. From FB, I share on my personal FB page. Done.

Twitter is a catch-all.

WordPress has some great plug-ins to help with this, mostly JetPack. I've seen solid traction the last few weeks, with the last 6 (hopefully 7!) days of 100+ visitors to my personal site.

I’ll admit I’m not huge on social media. I personally like Instagram mainly cause I can look at other bikes and just use as bit of a photo dump of bikes. I mainly just chat shit with people on Twitter. Insta and YouTube auto post to Twitter. Facebook nah not interested Unless I’m in a few groups or using messenger. In fact my profile has nothing on it besides my cover picture and profile picture.

I get tempted every day to bin Facebook. I have binned twitter as couldn't be bothered with the same "good morning" crap posts. U do like Instagram, but my main promoting of videos is on here and just on YouTube itself.

I will quote happily accept your kind offer if merch, to advise your channel where I can in the local area.

I completely agree. It's hard with so many different platforms. I hate FB but do use it to put a few of my bike vids onto a small group that helps get the videos seen. Worse, I have to use all those platforms for work.. which is a complete pain. Worse one for me, Instagram!

Really? Why you not a fan of Instagram?

I think its all the tagging that becomes repetitive and makes every post seem like a chore. The fact you can't have a list of tags doesn't help. If you can.. I don't know about them. Guess its just not my thing.

If you use the same tags each time, why not just have a doc or email with them all and then copy/paste them into the Instagram post?

This is one of the things I struggle with on Instagram ... the freakin' tags!

I was JUST going to post to suggest what HippoDrone suggested, but he beat me to it LOL!
