Bought a media mod for my chin mount, bought mic and adapter to go in my helmet, i need better audio. I’m really hoping this takes my audio and hopefully videos in general to the next level. Ive been relying on the GoPro picking up me talking semi loudly through the motocross helmet and its been OK at times, but this should definitely be better. Cant wait to try it out.

I tried using the Media Mod with it's reverse facing shotgun microphone to record my in helmet audio last time I was out on the trails, utter rubbish, couldn't hear me at all and loads of wind noise. I def recommend using the GoPro External Mic Adaptor and running a mic into your helmet than using the Media Mod. It also makes changing batteries easier too as you don't have to completely remove everything to do so like you do with the Media Mod

Aye it does, but you need to protect all the microphones and ports on it from the weather as it will click and pop if any wet touches the ports or jacks :)

When you mount your microphone try for the front inner chin area of your helmet, or if that part is really pointy/long a little bit to the left or right side of the chin guard, if you are wearing a dirt bike style helmet.

I'm interested to see how your mic mounting works out on a MX helmet, on my MX helmet at any speed at all, it get a ton of wind noise. If you find a mounting spot that works well, I am very interested in pictures.

I did use my road lid in an attempt to get better audio which sort of worked, but because it had less vents I got super hot so was only really a solution for winter. But like I said before, if I am trail riding, then I don't bother recording the tarmac stuff as that is not what the video is about :)

I record my audio via the internal mic on the Hero 8, but in all of my 40+ motovlogs I've not filmed in the rain yet, not even once. I should go out for a ride in the rain and film sometime just to see how it goes.
