Companies will also need to have people, who will process the sensitive data, at some stage, of having it. That is what data non disclosure agreements are for. If the person brakes the rules, he is the one, who will have to pay for the damage. I am pretty sure, google has that covered. And going after every youtuber individually is time and money consuming.

All I can think about is how annoying it would be to apply a mask to each clip that has a plate in it....
I'd start recording exclusively on country roads and cutting the my videos every time a car shows up.

If the plate is visible in public to everyone, what's the purpose of considering it private or a personal info? If that was the case, then the obvious solution is to ban the display of registration plates as it is violation of privacy, no?

LOL that would be funny though.. Imagine a world where all vehicles run without plates.. All the tail tidy makers will go bankrupt.

Can’t see how it would affect is, recording in a public place is permitted unless you’re recording for the purposes of crime or terrorism.

As someone said about TV luve broadcasts, you can’t blur all number plates and faces, it’s impossible. You either need to record against a wall, or put something up behind you. Even with a delay, you can’t process that much stuff that quickly, all you can do is hit a button to blank the wardrobe malfunction.

It could also kill normal vlogging because people are always on the streets (and in public places), so censoring faces and plates are almost impossible to do in every video.
I only (mostly, but not always) censor plates from people who do things (very) wrong because those are most likely the people that don't want their face and plate on the internet.

I normally don't bother to hide the plate even if they are driving like @$$h0l3s because they are endangering others and I don't see why they should be hidden.. If you drive like a competent person nobody will bother with you. That's my opinion anyway.
