So there was a request for a place to request vlogs from other members to explain what happens in given circumstances in your territory.

Always wondered why in America the guy turning right sometimes runs a red light?

Well, wonder no longer, ask the question in here, and the community will respond!

If you're going to respond, firstly, make your vlog, edit and upload to YouTube, once you've done that, post your video in the member's video section (here: https://motovlog.com/forums/members-vlogs.22/ ), and then post the link to the thread in here below, tagging the person who requested it, prefixing their name with @, this will then pop up their name, click it, and it will tag them so they know you've done it.

Got it? Excellent, off we go!

Start with someone fully explaining that right turn on red I think.

GO!!!! :)

I'd like to know about lane discipline, especially in the US.

Is it like here (UK) where the left or nearside lane is the main driving lane and any lanes to your offside are for overtaking only?

NB: I've tried to use language that most should understand but feel free to add clarity or ask for more details about the question.

Is there a chance that this could be in the Vlogging section as a Topic and separate threads are started for each question (if it proves popular)?

I think possibly keeping it as @Lurch has specified will help manage it better.

Yeah, there's no vlogging section as such within being in members vlogs or promoted videos, and it doesn't beling there. It's not overly relevant to any of the loose areas of topic set up already, and it will encompass a wide range of topics, so here is probably better. If it picks up, stays popular and develops a theme, I'll revisit it, but often these things are short lived, despite it being a really good idea.

Hey there fellow vloggers. I will work on shooting a bit of footage about right on red in the US this weekend. Been looking for something for my Full Face Rider character to do as they have been chewing holes in the scenery lately. Pesky devil.

A motorcycle, silly.
Why do vehicles have right of way over pedestrians even when pedestrian is on zebra crossing?

is that a UK law? can you reference it? :)

Nah, its United States. Pretty sure Americans don't call the crossing a zebra crossing like we do here.

For example here (in the UK) vehicles give way to pedestrians at zebra crossings but in America, it's the opposite. Even when it's a red light and the car can still turn right. The Pedestrian has 0 rights :D

In the UK our YouTube videos (and recordings on our cameras) can be used against us as evidence.... in the USA it seems to not be an issue with folks doing wheelies and 150mph blats openly posted on the tube of ewes.
Can anyone put a vid together explaining how that works in America and can anyone put a vid together explaining how the law works in the UK regarding this? :)

It can be used if the local authorities have the time and resources to connect the dots. I'd have to do some research to find the actual court cases.

could you do a video on it if you get the info? (if it isn't the type of content you want on your channel you could always set it to unlisted and share the link) :)

Not watched yet, but is it "usually as a blur from the peripheral vision"?

Why do vehicles have right of way over pedestrians even when pedestrian is on zebra crossing?

Most places in the Unites States that have cross walks give right of way to pedestrians when they have the signal to walk. Some places, like my home town, have crosswalks with no electronic signs or lights and its the state law to yield to a person standing on the side of the road looking to cross. Its quite obvious when they are standing at the head of the crosswalk, or Zebra Crossing, and looking both ways to see if it is safe to cross.

However, if you try and cross at a place where there is no cross walk, the car has the right of way. I have a few friends in Law Enforcement and all have said when asked about this that it cuts down on lawsuits filed by people jumping out in front of cars randomly or even at a lighted cross walk where the car has the green light to go. People love a quick buck from a lawsuit over here in the States.

@LoneWolfer The point of the thread is to create a video with the answer rather than to just type it out! ;)

I understand that, but I had to be the party pooper as I have heard this many times from people even in the States. It's a traffic safety issue and needed to be explained quickly so that a younger, less experienced or foreign rider wouldn't have the wrong idea here in the U.S.
