So I'm curious if anyone has a bike to bike communication setup in which the battery lasts a lot longer than Sena's bluetooth headsets. We do a lot of long distance trips, and are looking for some sort of line of communication that is not extremely expensive, yet has either a really long battery life or is hardwired into the bike for power. I am really open to all suggestions!

Can't help on that.. Usually just use hand signals, seldom need to communicate if already had the briefing before kicking off the ride, unless something unexpected happens.

Geez how long do you want it to last, I go weeks before I have to charge my sena.
That was my reaction! If it can't make it over a day on one charge, then it sounds like the battery is well past its prime.

If you want to do longer range, you can look at PMR radios. Sena do an SR10 so you can hook them in to your bluetooth. If the battery will last ;)

Currently we use the Sena SMH5-FM, which says it can get 7 hours of talk time, but realistically we have been getting about 5 hours since the day we purchased them. If anyone has suggestions as to longer lasting bluetooth, I am all ears for that as well!

Sena's customer support i really good if you have any questions.

Bear in mind advertised battery life is always "up to". There's many factors that can affect battery life, temperature being one of them. It would only be 7 hours under optimal conditions. There's a pile of settings you can adjust if you connect it to a computer and use the Sena device manager (website download), and turn off features you don't need like side tone.

I'll have to go and check that out then! Thank you!
