Lets Discuss...what Could Have Been Avoided Here?

It could have been avoided. The first bike ran the red light and the second bike tried to follow. If they would have stopped then they would have been fine, but it was also the cars job to make sure the intersection was clear before they went. It's still the bikes fault though

The bigger the group the more the rules of the road need to be adhered to. See it in vids all the time, things like people crossing solid lines. Pack mentality means people will follow and copy.

I must say though in that original Facebook post this made me piss myself.

What original one?

As for this, Well the bikers could have obeyed the rules of the road?
first bike was lucky, Second bike was travelling too fast considering he has a passenger which adds weight and increases braking distance.

Yep - No one likes to be left behind

Sounds about right. It's one think if you're on a bike by yourself but with a passenger it's a whole different story

Anyone ever notice, that in these types of crash videos, The riders go the same direction as the other vehicle? Now ( not saying he would have avoided it )But shouldn't he have turned toward the rear of the car to try and avoid the crash?

You cant prevent this, it's a bunch of squid idiots doing their thing. most group rides use common sense even if they are stunting, squids dont.

Initial reaction: You dumb son of a B*#&%!

That could and should have been avoided. Especially with a passenger.

Yup, but a properly organised group ride with 2nd man drop off means no one gets left behind or lost. Tail end charlie sweeps it up. You're a group, you'll all get there when you get there. bike 2 pushing a red means bike whatever will HAVE to stop for it. There's no advantage.

Aye defo - I don't really group ride as I like to have a laugh on my own or with a likeminded mates who I'm not fussed about pretty much rubbing wheels with (don't you shake that Rospa head at me).

However we do that in tiny groups in the middle of knowhere etc

Big group rides are a pain in the Arse to be honest, always someone who wants to be at the front

Small groups of folk who know each other and know what the others will do etc is fine, you evolve your own "rules".

I don't always apply all the RoSPA rules all the time ;)

My Striple vid shows that somewhat and if you find Bizz's version of the swap and the rest of the day we had a reet laugh.

Discovered my satnav had logging turned on. Apparently on one segment we averaged 89mph (142kmh). Oops.
