Hello Gents!

Just got off from viewing a 2013 Duke 390. It has 9000+km on it.

I wanna hear some of your tips/opinions with regards to the mentioned orange machine.

Very excited here, however I need some of your help to cool down some of my horses! :D

If you do own a Duke, be it 125/200/390/690, do inform me of the problems/issues you've had.

If it's heat related issue, do mention the country you're riding at.

Singapore is a tropical nation, tends to get very hot and very cool inconsistently. :(

Once rode a friend's Duke for a couple of minutes.

Didn't like the stock foot pedals. They're too small and easy to miss if you used to bikes with bigger pedals like FZ16, Super Four, CBF600 or Shadow 400. You can get used to it faster if you ride a kup before with their small pedals.

Plastics feel cheap, and friend said mileage wasn't great.

But if you just want solid performance, Dukes and the RC line are solid choices.

I've herd nothing but good things about the duke. theres some supermoto guys on youtube who beat the crap out of one they take it off road on trails and everything and i think everything was fine.

Coming from a 2 stroker Yammie RXZ, I think it will not make much of a difference.

Might have just gotten used to the posture. :)

Offroads and trails are definitely out of my options, but who know I might just got into one in the future. I'm thinking of using the 390 as a commuter bike.
Good bike as long as you don't want long distance high speed. They don't like that.

You think it can cruise easily at 120-130km/h?

Speed cams are everywhere here in tiny Singapore, long distance and super high speeds are definitely out of the equation. :D
Fun bike in the twisty, but not so strong in the top end for a high top speed. I've got a few clips on the RC390 you can check them out if you want to.

I saw them, was hoping it was a Duke 390 instead of an RC 390 when I first view it.

But when I think again, there are many similarities in both other than the riding posture.

The 390 is definitely a twisty pro, but I was wondering if it can do well in the NS highway.

120-130 km/h speeds is still alright. The latest clip to Port Dickson has a Duke 200 cruising the highway, you can see the speedo for the cruising speed readings.

What are you looking for in a motorcycle? I've ridden the bike so I can give you my opinion based on that.

I'm actually looking for an urban commuter, with the ability to go crazy on the weekends. I've seen on other forums/videos/reviews, the Duke 390 seems to handle my needs well.

If that's your need, then the Duke 390 fits your needs. The tires and ABS are quite good. Braking is neat too. Handling is just wonderful. Throttle is quite responsive, and the riding position is good for city commute. If you're looking to go crazy, it'll satisfy you completely.

Know however that it's not a refined machine at all. Lot of vibration, and the parts feel quite cheap. The heat in traffic is something that will get to you if you're moving slow. I'm not sure how the traffic in Singapore is, but in India is terrible. An average speed of 8 kmph over 70 minutes of riding one time. The seat is a slab of rock, but it's alright if your roads are good and not trying to go up your rear. The fuel economy is much lower than it should for a 390, but that's rider, fuel and road specific.

It's pure performance.

I've been considering an RC 390. The Duke would be a good option if the RC is too aggressive, posture wise. Looking forward to more discussion and review.

Well, I've got myself a Duke 390. I found that the RC390's posture is too aggressive for my daily commute to work. But the RC390 is definitely fun on the tracks though! :D
