I've managed to drop my SV :/
Short story: I was doing some work on a building site for some extra dough, this site was about 2 hours ride into London. Site work involves being at the site for 7am.
So I was getting up at about 4:30am and hitting the road at 5am, it's still pitch black out there at this time of the morning.
This particular morning it was also raining, I had a crap nights sleep as well so that wasn't going to help! I set off anyway, I didn't have my pinlock installed, not enough time.
So here I am, on my bike at 5am in the pissing rain, I'm tired, I can't see jack shit because my visor is completely fogged up and I'm riding down pitch black country lanes and backroads so I'm only doing about 20-25mph.
My front wheel hits a metal drain cover and slips to the left, my knee jerk reaction is to slam on the rear brake (duh) and that kicks the rear out to the right, I sort of powerslide down the road about 5 or so meters before coming to a stop. The bike was at a very steep angle that I couldn't hold up so I dropped it onto my left leg. Adrenaline took over and I yanked the bike back up as soon as I freed my leg. Doing so managed to tweak a few muscles in my back :/
All in all the damage was incredibly superficial, minor scratches on the wing mirror, left frame slider and rear left indicator and a minor scuff to the front fairing (which I want to get rid of anyway)
I decided not to go into work after that. I was only 3 miles from home at this point with about 55 miles remaining... f*** that shit.
