Best settings to capture the exhaust when the Zoom is in a backpack?

They vary greatly depending on your speed, biker, backpack etc.

Just make sure you never ever use the auto gain feature.

What swiss said. For me my best setting (and I only had it for a few days) was mid bit rate, wrapped in a towel with in my bag.

Low Cut Off, Auto Gain Off, and WAV format.

Gain was set at 63 it gave me enough so I could adjust it in post.

My bag is a waterproof vinyl bag.

That was one of the videos that got me to get an external microphone. thanks for the link because I couldn't find it again.

I've tried the Schaaf method. Its good, but I still have to find out the perfect microphone settings.
Somebody know?
The input level: how much? 100? Input level means how higher, how louder?

And whats the difference between .mp3 and .wav? Because you can't open .mp3 not in Premiere?
