Youtube Quality

I Upload in Bulk as private then manually release them as I see fit, That way there all nice and high res by the time you drop it!
thats what i was thinking would be best, but I dont have any subscribers yet so it doesnt really matter yet.

Above someone posted about being verified, thats important if you want to use custom thumbnails.

looking at my view count and location I'm not so sure about that It might just take longer, but I would totally believe that YouTube would prioritize network traffic to higher revenue driving providers, but yes it is low res at first I always try to upload the night before so I can schedule a few hours out to make everything smooth after it goes live.

Like others have mentioned I upload my videos as private then release them once processing is done.

My account is verified, but I still can't schedule videos. Did they remove this feature?

Yep, as others has said YouTube do some validating and processing in the background. This caught me out when I uploaded my first vid, I ended up deleting and re-uploading and then i worked it out :(

I have videos up to a month in advance, I always come back after a day to do all the annotations, thumbnails and watch the video to ensure I want it on my channel. Quality check or something.

good tip on not making the vid public until it's fully processed. occasionally i've had guys watch it the moment it was uploaded and complain about the shoddy video quality. i usually explain youtube hadn't processed the higher resolution versions yet and offer a 300% refund on the huge amount of money they forked out to watch the video, namely ZIP, NADA and bugger all. :) and of course compensation for any emotional damage they may have suffered by the world in general not conforming to their expectation. :)
