YT reencodes videos in to all available resolutions.

You need to be verified before you can schedule. Just, er, google it

I Upload in Bulk as private then manually release them as I see fit, That way there all nice and high res by the time you drop it!

As said above, yes sir. You can first post private and let youtube do its thing then make public to avoid it.

Right now I'm trying to keep 3 at the ready so I can release one a week and not have to worry about getting my editing done. Helps me be more consistent. Whether my subscribers care, I don't know. I can also choose to preempt with a better video if I want.

I know what you mean about the consistency, sometimes I get busy with other things in life and I end up missing. For example, I had a bad wreck in my race car 2 weeks ago, and a move last week so I let my channel go dormant for almost 3 weeks.

Youtube also encodes and spreads a video across all the servers much faster for higher sub count people. So if you have no subs and hardly any videos, it can be almost impossible for people on the other side of the world to watch your videos because they stream so slowly.
I have no proof of this, but I have seen it tested.

The popular videos are probably stored in a cache thus stream/load faster due to numerous/frequent request. That's my guess.
